Plectrum Bob
Plectrum banjo was not very well known or widespread in our country before, but thanks to Ivan Mládek, for example, who has been using it for years, this is gradually changing.
Because the instrument can be tuned with the practical guitar tuning (so called Chicago tuning) EHGD, this instrument can equally replace the guitar banjo. Every guitarist can therefore start playing the banjo from day to day without any learning and enrich the usual monotony of guitar sessions with its sound.
In the world, it is most likely to be found in Dixieland and jazz bands, but where it is tuned DHGC.
The Bob model differs from the Student with its gloss lacquer finish and ebony fingerboard. The headstock has mother-of-pearl inlay. This banjo is popular not only for its sound, but also for its interesting price.
All important parts are basically identical to those used in more expensive models (tone ring, flange, mechanics, etc.). The exception is the decoration, which is simplier in this case.
